Interview with Bestselling Author Cassie Alexandra

I had the pleasure of interviewing bestselling author Kristen Middleton. She also writes under the pen name Cassie Alexandra.

Lisa: Tell a little about yourself.

Kristen Middleton (K.L. Middleton) lives in the Midwest, with her husband and two daughters, and enjoys writing Horror and Fantasy,
as well as Contemporary Romance. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, traveling, and watching scary movies.  Since 2011, she has written over twenty-seven books, many which have been translated into other languages. Kristen also writes gritty, steamy, biker stories under the pen-name of Cassie Alexandra.

Lisa: What can you tell us about your works?

I love what I do and take great pride in each book that I write.  I write my biker series under a pen name only because I have a lot of younger fans as K.L. Middleton and these are definitely only for the 18+ group.

Lisa: What genre do you write and why?

I write horror and fantasy as well as contemporary romance.  I also write erotica under my pen name.  Fantasy and horror are my favorite genres to write, however I've been getting so many emails about continuing on with the biker series that I might have to continue on or create another series with different characters.

Lisa: If a fiction writer, is any part of your book based on events in your life?

I created some of the characters using traits from my family and friends. I also used the first names of some of them, for fun.

Lisa: What was the greatest challenge you faced with publishing your work?

Promoting. I wasn’t sure where to start.

Lisa:  Do you have a writing cave? If so,please describe it?

I finally have an office with a window.  Before it was my kitchen table, which was frustrating for myself as well as my family.

Lisa: Do you have an interesting writing quirk?

The endings of my books are never what I’ve originally intended to write.

Lisa: Do you have a favorite author or book?

I don’t have one favorite, but I really love reading anything by Dean Koontz, Peter Straub, and F. Paul Wilson, and John Sanford.  Stephen King’s The Stand is one of my favorite books and partly inspired me to create Zombie Games. Also, many of Anne Rice’s vampire books have stuck with me throughout the years.

Lisa: Describe yourself in three words.

Friendly, determined, scatterbrained.

Lisa: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
There are many places I’d love to visit in Europe, especially Ireland. Also, father and his family migrated from Germany when he was a young boy, so I’d also love to travel there as well.
